Keanu Reeves is known as one of the nicest men in Hollywood. His interviews come across as polite, if not shy – but the 54-year-old actor has admitted that he feels lonely.
Keanu has been out and about promoting John Wick 3: Parabellum recently, which he stars in alongside Halle Berry.
In a recent interview with The Jakarta Post, after he talks about the new film from the franchise, Keanu is asked ‘what love means’.
He replies: “You mean romantic love? You know, I’m the lonely guy. I don’t have anyone in my life. But if it does occur, I would respect and love the other person; hopefully it’ll happen for me.”
Aw, Keanu, give us a hug.
He’s then asked if he’s alright with being lonely.
He says: “I don’t concern myself with it that much. I’m an actor, so in terms of what you’re asking about, I have no answer. There’re definitely paparazzi chasing after you, but I don’t go out much, I don’t really do anything. I’m pretty boring.”
Although it might just seem that he’s a quiet chap, Keanu has had a hard time of it. His upbringing was pretty tough going and his ex-girlfriend tragically passed away in a car crash.
He was also close with iconic actor River Phoenix, who died of an overdose at the age of just 23.

Speaking to Rolling Stone about River, he said: “I enjoyed his company. Very much. And enjoyed his mind and his spirit and his soul. We brought good out in each other. He was a real original thinker. He was not the status quo. In anything.”
Known for how elusive he is, he now seems to keep himself to himself and has earned the love of, well, pretty much everyone.
The internet has had an outpouring of love for the actor – there’s even a Reddit thread detailing anecdotes of Reeves’ incredible generosity. The actor has done all sorts, donating millions over the years and even taken pay cuts so that other people can have roles in films he’s starred in and buying full crews motorbikes.
He also runs and contributes to various charities, including cancer charities and one to help cure spinal injuries.
And in true Keanu style, he doesn’t even attach his name to them, but prefers to play down his involvement – and that’s why we love him.
